Our laboratory is equipped with a range instruments from the leading manufacturers:

AR2000 and AR1000N Controlled Stress Rheometers
Sophisticated and powerful research tools providing comprehensive rheology characterisations of a wide range of product types.  Flow, Creep and Oscillation methods are available in both controlled stress and controlled shear rate / strain modes. A range of measuring systems such as cones, plates, crosshatched plates and cylinders ensure most samples can be tested.

Brookfield Viscometer DVIII+ Ultra
The Brookfield viscometer is the ubiquitous workhorse of the industrial lab.  Favoured for its simplicity and ease of use the viscometer can be fitted with a wide range of accessories - from spindles to cylinders to T-Bars - to suit a variety of demands.

Soft Solids Tester
In collaboration with Brookfield Engineering Neil Cunningham developed the Soft Solids Tester from another instrument, the RS Rheometer.  The SST is a dedicated vane-based rheometer specifically designed to measure “difficult” materials such as pastes, set gels, waxes and heavily particulate-laden slurries.  The instrument is robust and designed for fast and easy-to-interpret testing of foods, building materials, mineral slurries and many more products.

Texture Analyser CT3
The Brookfield CT3 texture analyser employs penetrometry and extrusion methods for the testing of set gels, waxes and many solids.  A range of probes and cells of various shapes and sizes are available.

All testing is backed up with a written reports, explanatory notes where necessary and email and telephone support to ensure the results are fully understood.

Oven/incubator, mixer, balance and other preparation equipment is also available.
